Bottle Inspector (MS100P)

Drinkable beverages are now easily separated from dangerous liquids that may contain explosive ingredients, drugs, chemicals and other contraband.

The MS100P is a tabletop beverage inspection system designed to quickly screen liquids in bottles where threat items may be present. The MS100P is for use at checkpoints, prisons, events and wherever liquids in bottles are security concern.

Bottles are automatically evaluated in less than 3 seconds. A green light indicates that the bottled beverages are safe, a red light signals an operator to take action.

MS100P FAQ's

Question: What is the MS100P (MicroScan 100P)?

Answer: The MS100P (MicroScan 100P) is a portable, tabletop plastic beverage bottle analyzer that utilizes EMIT's patented nearfield microwave technology to detect contaminates or other threat liquids/materials hidden in most common size plastic beverage bottles.

Question: How does the MS100P work?

Answer: The MS100P has been pre-calibrated to verify potable liquids contained in plastic beverage bottles. Most ingredients other than potable liquids are easily detected and will cause an alarm when scanned. Immediate results are signaled by a simple "green light- its good to go or a red light-requires further screening" making the MS100P easy to operate.

Question: Is accuracy affected by contaminated concentration levels?

Answer: Detection accuracy is affected by significant dilution that varies with the type of contaminate. Accuracy of 95% or greater can be achieved when the volumetric concentration is between 60% and 100% of contaminate fluid mixed with a potable fluid depending on what contaminate is present. EMIT is conducting a series of dilution detection tests and will publish the results on its web site when completed.

Question: What is your definition of a contaminate?

Answer: As used in conjunction with the MS100P, a contaminate is any non-potable fluid.

Question: Will solid material impact results?

Answer: A significant presence of solid material may cause the unit to alarm in the same manner as if a liquid contaminate were present, depending upon the nature of the solid and the amount present.

Question: Will the unit work with frozen bottle contents?

Answer: No, the unit is designed to operate in a range of 5 degrees to 40 degrees C.

Question: Can the unit distinguish between two potable fluids occupying the same bottle type?

Answer: As configured for this market, the unit will not distinguish between different potable fluids. EMIT has a variation of this technology which can be developed to make this kind of distinction. Needless to say, this is a more complicated and expensive application requiring a modest level of user training.

Question: What is the warranty period?

Answer: The unit is warranted for one year subject only to warranty denial for misuse, intentional or gross abuse, and/or breach of sealed unit. It is the purchaser's responsibility to safely ship the unit to EMIT's facility in Clarkston, Washington where EMIT, at its sole election, will repair or replace the unit. Maintenance protection plans are available from EMIT.

Question: Can this unit be used with glass bottles?

Answer: This is a qualified yes. While the MS100P has been calibrated specifically for plastic bottles the unit works well with most conventional glass bottles. Heavy glass bottles such as beer and liquor bottles require a special setting that is provided for with each MS100P.
